Getting the job done right
Applying his experience from almost 30 years of residential and commercial construction and remodeling, Kevin C. Bennett offers a wide range of inspections and service so you can move in with comfort and ease. Kevin’s work meets InterNACHI standards of practice and code of ethics, which goes above and beyond the state of Wisconsin’s standards of practice.
Kevin’s home inspections include the following:
Roofing – This includes roof covering, flashing (which helps direct the flow of water, preventing water from leaking into our home), roof drainage systems, sky lights, and all penetrations.
Exterior – This is representative of the number of windows, all entrance doors, deck, wall call cladding, and the landscape around the perimeter of the house.
Basement, Foundation & Crawlspace – This includes the foundation walls, basement floor, open framing and insulation, ventilation and first-floor framing.
HVAC – This includes the furnace, ductwork, registers, exhaust fans and AC compressor when temperatures are more than 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Plumbing Systems – This includes plumbing supplies, drainage of the water heater, sump pump and fixtures.
Electrical – This includes the main electrical panel box, switches, outlets, ceiling fans and any exposed wiring.
Interior – This includes the ceiling, walls, flooring, windows and doors.
Attic – Examines the attics structure, its ventilation, insulation and an inspection for any exposed electrical devices.
Fireplace – Includes an inspection of the hearth, the hearth extension, damper, flue and the chimney.
Along with these specifically purposed inspections, Kevin also performs a number of other types of inspections:
These inspections are geared towards the interests of a homeowner and reveal issues in the house before the potential buyer’s inspection. Doing a pre-listing inspection can ensure transparency between the buyer and seller, and help reduce the likelihood of a dealing falling through.
This inspection is meant for the prospective home buyer, and includes a visual examination of all accessible areas of the house and its living condition. These are done prior to finalizing the house purchase and may lead to further negotiations based on the future repairs needed.
Home Maintenance inspection
This type of inspection is meant for current homeowners who have been in their home for some time and are interested in an inspection for maintenance purposes. Just like going to a regular doctor check-up, this can be a great way to ensure your home is healthy and is a good way to catch small problems before they become big problems.
Radon is a naturally occurring odorless, radioactive gas that can be dangerous when present in high levels in your home. The EPA estimates that radon is responsible for almost 20,000 lung cancer deaths per year. Make sure your family is safe by getting a radon test today!
